Shizenha Style Okome no Fuwapon

Coop Shizenha's "Domestic Producer Declaration"
As Coop Shizenha has conducted activities seeking food safety and security, we perceive the issue of the 38% food self-sufficiency rate (*) and environmental pollution issues as complex, interrelated problems. We advocate the "Domestic Producer Declaration" and aim to improve the food self-sufficiency rate by protecting domestic agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.

* Japan's food self-sufficiency rate is only 38% (Reiwa 6 fiscal year calorie base / Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries)

- We do not rely on food additives!
We do not use seasonings that fall under food additives (such as amino acids) or modified starches, providing a taste that leverages the flavor of the ingredients themselves.

There is a reason we do not rely on food additives
There is a system where the government examines and designates the safety of food additives. However, even if the safety of each individual item is verified, there is currently almost no guarantee of safety when multiple additives are used in combination. For this reason, Coop Shizenha has established voluntary standards for food additives based on the philosophy of "not using food additives with doubtful safety" and "not using unnecessary food additives," and we manufacture products that value making the most of the original taste of the ingredients.

About the private brand "Shizenha Style"
We want our children to eat safe and secure food! We want to protect Japanese agriculture by "choosing" domestic ingredients! We want to leave safe and secure food for our children in the future. Cherishing such thoughts and incorporating the voices of union members who use our services, "Shizenha Style" is a private brand launched by Consumers' Co-operative Coop Shizenha in 2009, expanding its product lineup centering on processed products that permeate daily life.

Currently, product development and handling are carried out by 9 co-ops and 2 business federations affiliated with "Co-op Network 21," a network made up of friendly co-ops that share the same sentiments. By handling products jointly with friendly co-ops, we are also making progress in developing products that could not be made before due to lot size issues.

"Towards a society where everyone can eat organic agricultural products"

Coop Shizenha develops its business in the Shikoku and Kansai areas, aiming for a lifestyle that coexists with nature, valuing a visible relationship with producers. It is a consumers' co-operative that establishes strict independent standards, dealing mainly with products that do not rely on food additives and are particular about domestic production, as well as vegetables nurtured through organic and environment-conserving agriculture. We carry out a wide range of activities, including initiatives to expand organic farming such as the Organic School.
