Recommended by Ryō Asai! He provided a comment for the new obi.

Her depiction of anger, which possesses a unique sense of openness, was extremely vivid.

Received the 'Ryō Asai Award' at the 'CINRA Inspiring Awards Edition 2026.'

Yuka Kamimura, who debuted after winning the Grand Prize at the 21st 'R-18 Literature Prize for Women by Women,' received the 'Ryō Asai Award,' selected by author Ryō Asai, at the 'CINRA Inspiring Awards Edition 2026,' an award hosted by the web media 'CINRA' to honor next-generation expressions.

[Judge Ryō Asai's Commentary]

I felt a sense of awe at her rare and robust ability to release three works in her debut year, each with completely different charms: the sharp writing of 'Kyuukyuwareten Ja Nee Yo,' the handling of the subject matter in 'Hokuhoku Oimotō,' and the sparkling youthfulness of 'Boku ni wa Warai ga Wakaranai.'

Kamimura's debut work, 'Kyuukyuwareten Ja Nee Yo,' is a shocking novel composed of three parts: 'Kyuukyuwareten Ja Nee Yo,' which calmly depicts the daily life of Sachie, a high school girl who attends school while caring for her mother with a serious illness; 'Naite n Ja Nee Yo,' which portrays Sachie unable to escape her mother's care even as a university student; and 'Suga tte n Ja Nee Yo,' in which Sachie, after moving away from home and starting a job at a TV production company, reaches a form of farewell with her parents.

Comment from Yuka Kamimura on receiving the award:

When I was a teenager, I was laughed at when I said, 'I want to be Ryō Asai if I'm reborn.' When I heard the news of the award, I remembered that along with surprise and joy. I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the award, including Ryō Asai. I will continue to write.

Author Introduction: Yuka Kamimura

Yuka Kamimura (C) Shinchosha

Born in Saga City in 2000. Completed her graduate studies at Kyoto University of Art and Design. In 2022, she won the Grand Prize at the 21st 'R-18 Literature Prize for Women by Women' with 'Kyuukyuwareten Ja Nee Yo.' In 2025, she debuted with the novel of the same name (Shinchosha). Her other works include 'Hokuhoku Oimotō' (Shogakukan) and 'Boku ni wa Warai ga Wakaranai' (KADOKAWA).

This work deals with caregiving. When I wrote the title story at the age of 20, I was only thinking about how to make people laugh. You might wonder about laughter in caregiving, but laughter was necessary to peel off the labels of 'young carer' and 'poor family' attached to the protagonist, Sachie, and to rediscover Sachie as a living person.

It's not cheerful. It's not a comedy. Courage might be needed. But after reading it, the colors of the world will surely change. Thank you for your consideration. (Yuka Kamimura)
