In China, due to the real estate slump, there are many ruined apartments called 'Lanweidong'. The story begins when architect Kō Kanokawa receives a request from a mysterious Chinese woman, Q, to turn a Lanweidong into an art museum, and his assistant, Ren, crosses over to the mainland. Amidst a construction site where capital and desires are laid bare, Ren is tossed about by the deep chaos of the mainland.

Ren Nishina

Raised in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and London. Graduated from Oxford University's PPE course and is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo. Won the 56th Shincho Newcomer Award in 2024 for 'Sabishisa wa ikko no haikyo' (Loneliness is a Single Ruin). Currently a part-time lecturer at the Department of Art, Tama Art University. English translation works include Koichiro Kokubun's 'Principles of Deleuze's Philosophy'.
