SHIN-JIGEN to Host Webinar with Professor Kensuke Harada of Osaka University on 'The Strengths of Japanese Robots in the Physical AI Era'

SHIN-JIGEN (Nara City, Nara Prefecture; CEO: Tamao Okamoto), a company supporting breakthroughs with 'Robotics and Edge AI,' will hold an online seminar on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 8:20 AM, featuring Professor Kensuke Harada of the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University.

Interest in 'Physical AI,' where AI operates in the physical world, is rising due to advancements in multimodal AI and robot foundation models. However, to make robots functional in real-world scenarios, it is necessary to capture data reflecting the variations of the environment that change daily, rather than just using learning data collected in controlled settings. How to collect, manage, and utilize such on-site data is becoming a critical issue for the social implementation of Physical AI.

In this webinar, Professor Harada, who leads the Physical AI and robotics field in Japan—including serving as chair of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s AI Robotics Strategy Study Group—will discuss the 'strengths of Japanese robots' in the Physical AI era, addressing challenges in data collection. Following his talk, he will engage in a session with SHIN-JIGEN CEO Tamao Okamoto to further discuss how the strengths of the Japanese robotics industry can be connected to social implementation and business.
