SHIN-JIGEN Inc. (Nara City, Nara Prefecture; Representative Director/CEO: Tamao Okamoto), a company that supports breakthroughs with "robotics and edge AI"*1, will exhibit solutions for infrastructure maintenance in buildings utilizing on-site learning edge AI at the Electrical Construction Exhibition.
At this exhibition, focusing on predictive detection of anomalies in electrical equipment, SHIN-JIGEN will introduce demonstrations targeting distribution boards, switchboards, and other electrical facilities. This includes a "Tracking Anomaly Detection System" that detects minute short-circuit currents appearing in current waveforms during the initial stages of tracking, and a "Thermal Electrical Anomaly Detection System" that detects abnormal heat on terminals and wiring based on temperature images acquired from thermal image sensors. Both systems aim to detect signs of anomalies based on changes in equipment status, utilizing on-site learning edge AI.
In conjunction with introducing the exhibition content, a "SJ Morning Webinar" will be held from 8:30 AM on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. During the webinar, CEO Okamoto will explain the application of on-site learning edge AI to the field of building infrastructure maintenance, based on the exhibition content at the Electrical Construction Exhibition.
SHIN-JIGEN will continue to leverage its expertise in robotics and edge AI to update industries and society from the perspective of "future implementation."
*1: Edge AI... A technology that processes information using AI on the network's edge (terminals and devices) rather than in the cloud. It offers significant advantages in terms of real-time performance, security, and communication costs, and is attracting attention as a "technology that changes the concept of infrastructure" because it can implement the power of AI in a way that is more closely aligned with social activities and daily life.

Fujimoto, a future implementer who supports companies' future strategies, talks about concrete methods for envisioning the future and integrating it into business. Influenced by the sci-fi work 'Star Trek,' he became determined to "implement" advanced future visions into real society. After the dissolution of the assist suit company "ATOUN," he established a new company "SHIN-JIGEN" and is working to create mechanisms for generating technologies and businesses from 0 to 1 that do not yet exist in the world. Furthermore, at "Thinker Inc.," established with then-Associate Professor Koyama of Osaka University, they are challenging to "realize robots that can be used as easily as home appliances." Realizing that Koyama's vision of the future and his own were the same, they are now working together to envision "harmonious robots" that collaborate and learn with people, thereby enhancing Thinker's future resolution. "There is no goal in the future. The accumulation of human imagination and challenges updates the future."
