Former Mitsubishi Electric Managing Executive Officer Yoshihisa Hara Appointed as Advisor to Japan Aerospace & Defense Consulting

Japan Aerospace & Defense Consulting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideo Mori; hereinafter "JADC"), a defense-specialized consulting firm and a group company of SHIFT Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Dai Tange; Prime Market: 3697; hereinafter "SHIFT") which supports customers in creating successful software services and products, announced that Yoshihisa Hara, former Managing Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, was appointed as an advisor on April 1, 2026. Mr. Hara also assumed the position of Industry Advisor (Defense Sector) at SHIFT on the same day.

**Yoshihisa Hara, Former Managing Executive Officer, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation**

Since joining Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 1983, he has been consistently engaged in the defense and space business.
He has been involved in the development of various radars, including airborne synthetic aperture radars and satellite-borne synthetic aperture radars.
In April 2016, he became the General Manager of the Kamakura Works, and in April 2018, the General Manager of the Communication Systems Works. From 2019 to 2023, he served as the Group President of the Defense & Space Systems Group, overseeing the defense and space business at Mitsubishi Electric.
Additionally, he served as Vice President of the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies from 2020 to 2021.

I am Hara, and I have recently assumed the position of advisor for SHIFT and JADC starting in April.
I have received guidance from Advisor Watanabe of SHIFT and JADC since shortly after I joined Mitsubishi Electric, working in the same technical field of radar development. I am deeply honored to be able to work together again with someone I have such a connection with.

As the security environment undergoes major changes, the defense business has become an extremely important field. I hope to be able to contribute, even in a small way, together with all of you.

## Background of the Appointment
SHIFT entered the defense-related business after receiving its first defense-related project in 2022, and has been promoting support for defense-related ministries and companies, as well as hiring personnel with high expertise in this area.

In October 2023, Hideaki Watanabe, the first Commissioner of the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) and Chairman of the Defense Technology Foundation, assumed the position of Industry Advisor. Based on Mr. Watanabe's wealth of knowledge and advice regarding the latest trends in defense equipment development and industry trends, SHIFT launched the "RMF Compliance Support Consulting Service" and the "Defense Industry Cybersecurity Standard Application System Construction and Audit Response Support Service." Furthermore, SHIFT has been working to expand its services in the defense sector, such as starting a collaboration with Aviation Week Network, a leading company in business intelligence in the aerospace and defense sector. Mr. Watanabe also became an advisor at JADC, established by SHIFT in April 2025, and is working to advance and specialize services together with experienced defense consultants belonging to JADC.

In September 2025, Shigeru Iwasaki, former Chief of Staff, Joint Staff and former Chief of Staff, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, was newly appointed as an advisor to SHIFT and JADC. Utilizing Mr. Iwasaki's extensive knowledge and public-private network, the company is promoting the development and provision of services that meet the needs of defense equipment operators, including the expansion of the "RMF Education Program."

Now, in order to accelerate the expansion and new development of services targeting defense equipment development businesses, we have decided to welcome Mr. Hara as a new advisor to SHIFT and JADC. Mr. Hara has been engaged in the defense and space business at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation for about 40 years and possesses deep knowledge of both the industry and the practical operations related to defense equipment development.

Going forward, JADC will continue to serve as a bridge between the public and private sectors through support tailored to both perspectives in the defense domain, contributing to the further enhancement of security in Japan's national security.
