SGC Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takahisa Ishikawa), a company that manufactures and sells gold products and buys precious metals, will hold the "Great Gold Exhibition," a sales exhibition showcasing a wide array of gold products, at Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. for six days from April 8th (Wednesday) to April 13th (Monday), 2026.
Life-Sized Golden Batter and Pitcher Statues of Two-Way Player Specially Exhibited Together
The special exhibition at the venue will feature life-sized golden statues of MLB Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani: "Golden Batter Shohei Ohtani" and "Golden Pitcher Shohei Ohtani." This will be a rare opportunity to see both statues together. These works were created by SGC, a pioneer in gold products, with the official approval of Ohtani, taking approximately two years to produce. The batter statue uses 1,550 sheets of gold leaf and stands approximately 1.9m tall (the same height as Ohtani, or approximately 2.4m from the base to the tip of the bat). The pitcher statue uses 1,450 sheets of gold leaf and stands approximately 1.7m tall. The reference price for each is 50 million yen (excluding tax), or 55 million yen (including tax), inspired by Ohtani's 2024 record of "50-50" (recording 50 or more home runs and 50 or more stolen bases in a single season) and achieving 50 or more home runs for two consecutive years. The combined price for both statues is 100 million yen (excluding tax), or 110 million yen (including tax).
Launch of Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Medals and Figures: "Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Collection"
Furthermore, under the title "Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Collection," special commemorative medals of Shohei Ohtani, made of 100g of pure gold with a diameter of approximately 5.4cm, will be released. Two types are available: batter and pitcher, with an estimated selling price of 9,614,000 yen each.
