Life-Sized Golden Statues of Shohei Ohtani's Two-Way Player Roles Appear Together - Combined Reference Price is 110 Million Yen!

SGC Co., Ltd., a company that manufactures and sells gold products and purchases precious metals, will hold the 'Great Gold Exhibition,' an exhibition and sale event bringing together a wide range of gold products, at Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. for six days from Wednesday, April 8 to Monday, April 13, 2026.

Life-Sized Golden Batter and Pitcher Statues Exhibited Together as a Two-Way Duo

Specially exhibited at the venue will be the life-sized golden statues of MLB Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani, 'Golden Batter Shohei Ohtani' and 'Golden Pitcher Shohei Ohtani,' offering a rare opportunity to see both together. These works were created over approximately two years by SGC, a pioneer in gold products, with official recognition from Ohtani. The batter statue uses 1,550 sheets of gold leaf and stands about 1.9m tall, the same as Ohtani's height (about 2.4m from the base to the tip of the bat), while the pitcher statue uses 1,450 sheets of gold leaf and is about 1.7m tall. The reference prices are 50 million yen each (55 million yen including tax), and 100 million yen for the pair (110 million yen including tax), in honor of Ohtani's '50-50' record set in 2024 (recording 50 or more home runs and 50 or more stolen bases in a single season) and his achievement of hitting over 50 home runs for two consecutive years.

'Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Collection' featuring pure gold medals and figures of Ohtani to be released

Then, under the title 'Shohei Ohtani Pure Gold Collection,' a 100g pure gold medal of Ohtani, approximately 5.4cm in diameter, will be released as a special project item. Two versions, a batter and a pitcher, are available, with a planned selling price of 9,614,000 yen each.

Furthermore, pure gold figures will also be available for sale. There are three types: 'K24 Batter Shohei Ohtani,' 'K24 Pitcher Shohei Ohtani,' and 'K24 Two-Way Player Shohei Ohtani,' each available in 1/10 and 1/20 scales.
