Selectra Japan conducted a survey involving 100 iPhone 17e purchasers. The findings reveal that while carriers offer a highly publicized '1 yen per month' campaign for two years, awareness is split at 50%. Notably, 80% of those who knew about the campaign did not utilize it. The main reasons for non-usage include reluctance to undergo the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) process, satisfaction with current plans, and psychological resistance to the requirement of returning the device after two years. Despite this, 65% of all respondents indicated they would consider switching carriers for future iPhone discounts.
