Announcement of the Launch of the 'SOLAFIL' Film-type Perovskite Solar Cell Business

Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. (President: Ikusuke Shimizu; hereinafter 'Sekisui Chemical'), together with Sekisui Solar Film Co., Ltd. (President: Futoshi Kamiwaki; hereinafter 'SSF'), which is responsible for the product design, manufacturing, and sales of film-type perovskite solar cells, has been working on the commercialization and product development of the 'SOLAFIL' film-type perovskite solar cell. We are pleased to announce that we have decided to launch the business and have begun concrete discussions toward supplying the product to customers. 1. Background Sekisui Chemical and SSF have been working on the development and establishment of mass production technology for the 'SOLAFIL' film-type perovskite solar cell, aiming for commercialization in fiscal year 2025. Having now established manufacturing technology using existing facilities and completed preparations for the commercialization of products and installation specifications for metal roofs, we are officially launching the film-type perovskite solar cell business. 2. About SOLAFIL SOLAFIL is our brand of lightweight, flexible, film-type perovskite solar cells designed to expand the potential for solar power generation in locations where traditional silicon panels cannot be installed.
