The 6th Year of Utilizing Ibaraki Prefecture Wheat 'Yumekaori'
Seven-Eleven has been promoting the use of 'Yumekaori', a wheat produced in Ibaraki Prefecture, as part of its efforts to support Japanese agriculture. This initiative, now in its sixth year, has become established as a local production for local consumption effort that delivers the deliciousness of the region to customers in collaboration with producers.
So far, we have started by replacing the wheat flour in existing products, developed and released dedicated products, and expanded the scale of our efforts to a stable year-round deployment.
The 'Yumekaori' wheat used by Seven-Eleven is a high-quality wheat rich in protein suitable for bread making, meeting the standards set by the 'Ibaraki Bread Wheat Cultivation Research Association'. In the target products, 'Yumekaori' is used in more than 90% of the wheat used in the bread dough, bringing out the chewy texture and rich aroma inherent in the wheat. This time, we are also offering products that combine ingredients unique to Ibaraki Prefecture, making this a fair where you can feel the rich appeal of local food.
Seven-Eleven's 'Local Production for Local Consumption' Initiative
Seven-Eleven is engaged in 'local production for local consumption' to support producers and contribute to the regional economy by actively utilizing ingredients unique to each region and shedding light on the distinctive food culture of each region. By using excellent raw materials from each area, we aim to convey the appeal of local food to many customers and activate the entire region.
