Seiko 5 Sports Launches Limited-Edition Collaboration Models with FTC, a Skate Brand Celebrating Its 40th Anniversary

Seiko Watch Corporation (President, CEO, and CCO: Shinji Hattori; headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will launch two collaboration models with FTC, a skate brand originating from the West Coast of the United States, under the Seiko 5 Sports line on Friday, July 10, 2025. Model HDB011J (left) is limited to 860 pieces across Japan and the U.S., with a suggested retail price of ¥64,900. Model HDB012JC (right) is limited to 663 pieces, priced at ¥70,400 (tax included).

FTC

Founded in 1986 by Kent Uehara in San Francisco—one of the holy cities of skateboarding—the brand name FTC stands for 'Family, Trust, Commitment.' Centered on skateboarding, FTC also incorporates music, art, and subculture into its product lineup, establishing itself not only within the skateboarding community but also as a key player in streetwear fashion. Upholding its street-rooted founding spirit, FTC continues to actively engage in film, music, and art projects beyond skateboarding and apparel.

Distinctive Design Born from Collaboration with FTC

A special collaboration watch has been created between Seiko 5 Sports, which values and preserves classic elements while continuously updating functionality and design, and FTC, which has embodied authentic skate culture for 40 years while honoring street culture since its inception.

Based on the SKX series, this model adopts the dial layout from Seiko's 1980s archive, a popular era during FTC's founding period. The FTC logo is placed at the 6 o'clock position as a distinctive design element. Model HDB011J (top photo) incorporates FTC's brand colors—black and gold.

HDB012JC takes inspiration from the vibrant orange color beloved by residents of San Francisco, FTC's birthplace, featuring a vivid orange dial. The bezel is specially crafted with etching to create a three-dimensional effect.

The transparent case back features the FTC logo, and HDB012JC (right photo) additionally displays the text '40th Anniversary.' Each piece is marked with 'LIMITED EDITION' and a serial number as proof of its limited status.

Each model comes with a specially designed limited-edition box and an additional black nylon strap for easy replacement. Furthermore, HDB012JC (right photo) includes the '40th Anniversary' marking on the box and comes with an original watch cloth to commemorate FTC's 40th anniversary.
