Shizen Connect Adopted as Battery Control System for Matsuyama Battery Storage Station

Shizen Connect, the No. 1 VPP platform provider for integrated management of distributed energy resources, has announced that its proprietary energy management system, 'Shizen Connect,' has been adopted as the battery control system for the 'Matsuyama Battery Storage Station.' This station is operated by Matsuyama Mikan Energy, a joint venture established by Shikoku Electric Power and CHC Japan.

The Matsuyama Battery Storage Station began commercial operation in August 2025 as the first extra-high voltage grid-scale battery storage station in Shikoku. To improve operational efficiency and advance market operations, the station has adopted 'Shizen Connect,' with system usage scheduled to commence in June 2026.

'Shizen Connect' is a comprehensive system offering one-stop services for market trading, supply-demand management, remote control, and monitoring for a wide range of energy resources, including grid-scale and renewable-integrated battery storage systems. The company has a proven track record in both operating agency services and SaaS delivery for grid-scale battery projects.

Matsuyama Mikan Energy highly evaluated the system's ability to support extra-high voltage projects, as well as planned expansion features like automatic submission of reserve power supply plans and automatic bidding in the pre-market. This flexibility allows the station to respond to market changes and expand revenue opportunities. Furthermore, by automating a series of operational tasks such as plan submission, bidding, and battery control, the company expects a significant improvement in operational efficiency.

Under this arrangement, Shizen Connect will provide 'Shizen Connect' as SaaS to Matsuyama Mikan Energy. Matsuyama Mikan Energy will use the remote control and other functions of the system to manage transactions in various electricity markets, including wholesale and supply-demand adjustment markets, as well as balancing group operations.
