Say Technologies Inc. announced a version update for its SSD-assistance (SSDA) service. SSDA, a server configuration specification automatic generation service, has been adopted by over 500 companies since its launch in 2018, maintaining a retention rate exceeding 97%. The update adds support for FortiGate's FortiOS 7.6 and introduces a new function to generate a "FortiGate Simple Security Configuration Checklist." This feature addresses the challenge in IT infrastructure operations where configuration details, especially for firewalls, are often not well-documented or depend on individual knowledge. The new checklist automatically generates a document outlining basic security checkpoints based on FortiGate configuration, facilitating review, handover, and reducing human dependency. Examples of checklist items include verifying initial administrator accounts, restricting administrative access (HTTPS/SSH), ensuring proper firmware update settings, and checking for enabled but unused interfaces or protocols. The company plans to expand security checklist items and supported devices in the future.
