It provides information on how to specify the use of donations, explains the available options, and presents case studies of donation utilization from four different municipalities. ■ Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Report Mentions 'Donation Usage' According to the "Survey Results on the Current Status of Furusato Nozei (FY2025)" released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in July 2025, 1,685 municipalities (94.3% of all designated entities) allow donors to select a field for donation usage, while 555 municipalities (31.1%) allow donors to select specific projects. Among the 10 available fields, "Child-rearing and Support" received the highest number of donations in FY2024, with over 8.55 million contributions, followed by "Education and Human Resource Development" and "Regional and Industrial Promotion."
