1 Background of the Grief Care Event 'Bouquet of Gratitude Solo Exhibition ~Cheers for the Radiance of Life~'

I am the daughter of a Buddhist priest. I want to create works that can heal someone's heart. This is a belief I have always held at the center of my artistic activities. Testimonials from those who lost loved ones in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in 2024 became the catalyst for creating these grief care works.

I want to be there for people as they live their lives true to themselves beyond their sorrow. I also want to send cheers to those who are working hard right now (especially students preparing for exams). I hope the 'Bouquet of Gratitude Solo Exhibition' will be of some help to everyone who sees it.

2 [Examples of Works] This time, you can view captions that convey the 'feelings the works wish to deliver'.

⚪︎ Grief Care NO1

Bouquet of Gratitude (Handwritten, Blue)

These are the words of a man who lost his family in the major earthquake that struck Noto last year.

An article posted in the newspaper deeply moved me, and I couldn't stop crying. He is taking steps forward for others, carrying unspoken feelings that cannot be fully expressed in words.

I want to send him cheers for his future.

⚪︎ Grief Care NO2

Bouquet of Gratitude (Handwritten, Pink)

I was taught that if one can live for someone else, if one can step away from their current reality, then after crying a lot, a new path will appear.

Please, take one step forward.

⚪︎ Grief Care NO3

Bouquet of Gratitude (Handwritten)

Pink Rose: 'I am happy to have met you.'

Yellow Gerbera: 'Kindness'

Alstroemeria: 'Longing for the future'

This is a bouquet to warm the heart and help one look forward.

⚪︎ Cheers NO1

Flower Field of Gratitude (Handwritten)

The 'Flower Field of Gratitude' is one of the works I have created many times. This work contains the cheer of 'Together, Prosperously.' Happiness alone is not true happiness. One can only feel happiness when those around them are also happy.

⚪︎ Cheers NO2

Cheers - The Apple Tree That Doesn't Fall (Handwritten)

Amidst the many apples that fell during Typhoon 19, which hit Aomori Prefecture in 1991, there were apples that remained without falling. These miraculous apples were sold as good luck charms to ensure one doesn't fail exams. This is a true story of turning a crisis into an opportunity. I send cheers to those working hard with many positive words.

4 [Profile]

Artist / kouhi

'Bouquet of Gratitude' Artist / kouhi

Born to a Buddhist priest father and a calligrapher mother.

Certified calligraphy master, selected for the Mainichi Exhibition. Began activities in 2009 as an artist creating 'Flower Character Paintings' that fuse painting and calligraphy. Active in various forms, including solo exhibitions and workshops. I pour my heart into creating 'Bouquet of Gratitude' Flower Character Paintings with the wish, 'May everyone be happy, and may hearts be filled with kindness.'

Reason for Creating 'Bouquet of Gratitude'

The reason for creating 'Bouquet of Gratitude' was for Mother's Day. It was a single piece written to send to my mother. A single word of thanks was not enough for my mother, who has always supported me, so I made a bouquet with overflowing gratitude, with each flower representing a token of thanks. This is the origin of the Flower Character Painting 'Bouquet of Gratitude.'
