Starring Genki Iwahashi & Satoru Soma, Drama "Renai Ruby no Tadashii Furikata" Season 2 Confirmed for October 2026 Broadcast!

TOKYO MX (Tokyo Metropolitan Television Co., Ltd., Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has decided to produce Season 2 of the drama "Renai Ruby no Tadashii Furikata," which aired in the July 2025 season and garnered international attention. Broadcast is scheduled for the October 2026 season.

Season 1 depicted the love story of two men who, despite their awkwardness, sincerely face their romance, starring Genki Iwahashi as the lead and Satoru Soma as his partner, based on the manga "Renai Ruby no Tadashii Furikata" (Shinshokan / Dear Plus Comics) released by popular BL manga artist Ogeretsu Tanaka in April 2015. During its broadcast, drama-related hashtags trended on social media every episode, and the final episode's FOD stream reached number 1 in the overall rankings. It also garnered significant support, ranking 10th in the "Best Kiss Scene in BL Drama History" selected by Modelpress readers and 9th in "Best Kiss Scene of Summer 2025 Dramas" (not limited to BL dramas).

Furthermore, its popularity has crossed borders, with distribution in various countries worldwide and pop-up stores held in Shanghai and Taipei, receiving a huge response overseas.

In the highly anticipated Season 2, Genki Iwahashi, who plays the protagonist Hiromu Suzuki, and Satoru Soma, who plays his partner Natsuo Washizawa, will reprise their roles. Genki Iwahashi is expanding his acting career, with plans to appear in the stage play "Akahige" to be performed at Meijiza starting December 2026. Satoru Soma is scheduled to appear in the drama "Oretachi no Hakone Ekiden" (Nippon TV) airing in Fall 2026, continuing his appearances in popular works. With the main cast powered up, and the return of Season 1 director Aki Sato and scriptwriter Mikiko Takahashi, we will deliver an even more intense and beautiful "Koi Rubi" world.

This work depicts the "aftermath" of the two characters who conveyed their feelings to each other and successfully got together in the previous installment. Under the supervision of Ogeretsu Tanaka, the original story's world view will be maintained, with an original story incorporating spin-off elements from the manga.
