The Manufacturing DX Association (Representative Director: Hidetoshi Hayashi, hereinafter "Manufacturing DX Association") released the "Manufacturing DX Startup Chaos Map <2026 Edition>" (hereinafter, this Chaos Map) on March 26, 2026, which systematically organizes domestic startups working on manufacturing DX.
In this Chaos Map, SmartMat Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Representative Directors: Takayuki Shiga / Hidetoshi Hayashi, hereinafter "SmartMat") is listed as a startup in the "Inventory Management" category.
SmartMat provides the "SmartMat Cloud" inventory management service that utilizes IoT weight scales, supporting the automation and optimization of inventory management at manufacturing sites. In addition, its representative, Mr. Hayashi, serves as the representative director of the Manufacturing DX Association, promoting the social implementation of Japanese-style manufacturing DX.

Background and Purpose of Development
While the promotion of DX in the manufacturing industry is becoming increasingly important, there is a challenge in that it is "difficult to understand what kind of solutions exist in which areas." In particular, in order to achieve both on-site improvement and digital utilization, it is crucial to select tools suitable for one's own company.
The Manufacturing DX Association advocates for "Japanese-style Manufacturing DX" that leverages the "on-site capabilities" of the Japanese manufacturing industry, and created this Chaos Map with the aim of visualizing startups that support its realization.
Features of the Chaos Map
This Chaos Map organizes domestic startups that support the transformation of the manufacturing industry through DX by category.
The Japanese manufacturing industry's strength lies in its "strong on-site capabilities," which achieve high quality through on-site ingenuity. The Manufacturing DX Association promotes "Japanese-style Manufacturing DX" that leverages this strength, and this Chaos Map can be used as a guideline for selecting tools and services useful for its practice.

Future Outlook
The Manufacturing DX Association has been accumulating practical knowledge of manufacturing DX through study sessions and community activities, in collaboration with manufacturing companies and startups.
In the future, we will further accelerate the creation of concrete success stories of "Japanese-style Manufacturing DX" by uniting association member companies and startups.
In addition, we plan to release a white paper summarizing our efforts to date in July 2026.
