RX Japan G.K. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Executive Officer and President: Takeshi Tanaka) will host the "3rd SPEXA - International Space Business Expo -," Japan's largest comprehensive space business exhibition, for three days from May 27 (Wednesday) to 29 (Friday), 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight.
Following the successful launch of NASA's manned lunar mission "Artemis II" in April 2026, global expectations for space development are rising. In Japan, the space industry is now positioned as the "most important issue" in the new growth strategy advocated by the Takaichi administration, accelerating focused national efforts and investment. As space technology begins to be utilized as a cornerstone of national strategies such as disaster prevention, communication, and advanced infrastructure, it has entered a phase of "social implementation," with successive entries from diverse industries including construction, housing, aviation, and travel. This exhibition, featuring 300 companies* (1.6 times more than last year), will be held as a "Space Business Festival" where visitors can grasp and experience the potential of Japan's new growth industry, from cutting-edge equipment leading space development to new space businesses proposed by companies close to our daily lives.

Will Space Business Save the Structural Transformation of the Automotive Industry!? Space as Japan's New Growth Industry
Due to the shift from gasoline cars to EVs (electric vehicles) and the spread of autonomous driving, the number of automotive parts has drastically decreased from approximately 100,000 to about 10,000, raising concerns about the loss of approximately 300,000 jobs in domestic parts manufacturers. Japan's core industries are currently undergoing a once-in-a-century transformation. Amidst this, "space business" is attracting keen attention as a new growth industry.
The "high reliability" and "precision processing technology" cultivated in automotive parts development, as well as the "advanced sensor technology" in the autonomous driving domain, are indispensable elements for rocket and satellite manufacturing. Especially now, as we enter the "satellite constellation era" with hundreds of small satellites being launched, and space development shifts to mass production, Japan's manufacturing prowess and extensive supply chain are becoming an opportunity to open up the global space market.
This exhibition aims to open up the space industry, which was once a "village society" of a few specialists, and serve as a bridge connecting the space industry with other sectors, thereby fostering the creation of Japanese space companies and economic growth.

【Entry from Other Industries】 "Lunar Infrastructure and Housing" Challenging Life on the Moon
You can cover how familiar companies like general contractors and house builders are challenging the construction of space infrastructure. The exhibition will feature Cleverly Home's "Lunar Housing Tiles" and infrastructure/construction technologies supporting lunar living bases from general contractors and house builders.
・Lunar Tower / Lunar Dome: Infrastructure construction technology and living modules for space stay and habitation. Lunar Tower is an infrastructure facility that contributes to communication and energy supply, which will be necessary from the initial manned exploration phase on the moon.
・Sectional models of space housing, parts of housing frames, and prototype samples of space tiles will be exhibited. Structural and material technologies for living in extreme environments will be visualized, allowing visitors to concretely see "how far Earth's housing technology can be applied in space." 【Space Travel】 Space Becoming More Accessible. "Future Space Transportation" Proposed by Aviation and Travel Companies
Towards pioneering a new market of space travel, JAL (Japan Airlines), Nippon Travel Agency, and Future Space Transportation System Co., Ltd., along with 9 companies, will jointly exhibit under the theme "Creating an economic zone together." They will visualize a future where space becomes "daily," covering everything from development and manufacturing to launch, aircraft maintenance, insurance, sleep, and space travel. Newly unveiled metal 3D printer tanks, engine mockups, flight analysis simulators, and sleep devices will be exhibited.

【Experiential, Near-Future Technology】 From Space Solar Power Generation to Probes
The exhibition also features a wealth of actual displays of near-future technology and experiential content.
・Space Solar Cells: Sharp's actual display of solar power generation operating in harsh space environments. It was mounted on the small lunar lander "SLIM," which successfully made a high-precision landing on the moon in January 2024. It has demonstrated reliable performance in harsh environments, continuing to supply power necessary for communication with Earth for several months after landing on the moon.
