RUNTEQ Launches New Java Curriculum to Further Expand Skills of Students and Graduates

RUNTEQ Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CTO: Hisatoshi Kikumoto) will launch a new Java curriculum under its extended curriculum service "RUNTEQ Advance" for current and former students.

This curriculum is structured to systematically learn from Java fundamentals to web application development using Spring Boot. It supports skill catch-up for practical work, catering to cases where Java is adopted at the workplace and the increasing demand for acquiring multiple languages.


■List of Offered Curricula

The structure allows for step-by-step acquisition, from Java's basic syntax to web application development using the widely used framework "Spring Boot" in practice.

Foundational courses such as "Java Introduction/Fundamentals" and "Spring Boot Introduction/Fundamentals" have already commenced, with advanced modules planned for release in April 2026.

■About the Optional Curriculum "RUNTEQ Advance"

"RUNTEQ Advance" is an optional advanced curriculum that RUNTEQ's current and former students can choose based on their interests and career aspirations.

Currently, it offers a wide range of courses directly related to practical work and career development, including PHP/Laravel, React, Next.js, Computer Science, and Project Management.

With this addition, the Java curriculum now allows for flexible utilization tailored to more practical and long-term career development, including supplementing current studies, catching up on skills after employment or job changes, adapting to required technologies for work, and challenging new languages.

Furthermore, by providing an environment for continuous learning even after graduation, it functions as a system that sustains growth as an engineer without interruption.

■Background: Curriculum Expansion to Meet Graduate Needs

RUNTEQ has previously offered the "Web Development Standard Course" centered around Ruby on Rails, and the "Python x AI Course" that covers Python.

In recent years, many students and graduates have expressed needs such as "The development language at my workplace was Java," or "I want to try languages other than Ruby." To address these practical gaps and diverse learning needs, in addition to existing advanced curricula like PHP, we have newly launched the Java curriculum.

Furthermore, Java is a development language adopted across a wide range of fields in Japan, including enterprise, finance, and public systems, making it a highly valuable language to learn for enhancing marketability as a web engineer.

Based on test results, users can not only grasp their strengths and weaknesses but also clarify what they should learn next, enabling efficient skill improvement.

In line with the expansion of the Java curriculum, we will also advance Java support for Skill Metrix, establishing an environment where the "Learn → Evaluate → Improve" cycle can be consistently provided for Java learning.
