This series has invited globally acclaimed bars and bartenders, including those recognized by Asia's 50 Best Bars and The World's 50 Best Bars, as well as establishments featured on 50 Best Discovery. It has been well-received by many guests as an opportunity to experience world-class cocktail culture while on the remote island of Miyakojima.

In the summer of 2026, three bars representing Kyoto, Seoul, and Osaka will be featured. All are highly regarded establishments leading the bar scene both domestically and internationally.

Experience special, one-night-only cocktails at a tropical resort overlooking the blue waters of Miyakojima. Please enjoy this unique experience only available at Rosewood Miyakojima.

The "Rosewood’s Bartender Guest Shift Series" is held as part of Rosewood Miyakojima's initiative to connect excellent talent from Japan and abroad with the unique charms of Miyakojima, in line with the resort's "A Sense of Place®" philosophy.

Utaro Izaki | Bar Manager

Born in Chiba Prefecture, Utaro Izaki began working at a bar during his university years, where he discovered a lifelong passion for hospitality. He then joined the Park Hyatt Tokyo, dedicating 20 years to shaping the identity of the Bar & Lounge. He was involved in the development of new cocktail standards and signature menus, and also launched Japan's first guest bartender program, inviting world-renowned bartenders from New York, pioneering collaborations that continue to influence the industry.

Currently, as the central figure who built the storytelling and brand concepts for "YUKUU," "MAAS," and "CHOMA (苧麻)," he creates cocktails deeply rooted in Miyakojima's culture and traditions. While being embraced by locals, he is dedicated to creating a unique bar culture that embodies Rosewood's "A Sense of Place®." Together with his team, he continues to provide special guest experiences through each cocktail, valuing creativity, authenticity, and innovation.

Comment

We are delighted to welcome talents representing the bar scenes of the world and Asia to Miyakojima, and to offer drinks that express the techniques, philosophies, and individuality they have cultivated. The "Rosewood’s Bartender Guest Shift Series" also serves as an initiative to connect global bar culture with Miyakojima through cocktails. I myself gain many inspirations and new perspectives with each event. Please enjoy unique encounters along with these special, one-night-only cocktails.
