(Headquarters: Osaka City, President: Hidetoshi Seki) will launch "V Rohto Dry Guard Premium," an eye drop for dry eye (dryness of eyes) symptoms, on March 26, 2026, which achieves a 1% formulation of chondroitin (high-molecular weight)※1 in over-the-counter eye drops.

As concerns about dry eyes (dryness of eyes) and eye fatigue have been increasing in recent years, Rohto Pharmaceutical has focused on chondroitin and has been conducting research for many years. This product aims for a formulation that W approaches "prevention of tear evaporation" and "cornea protection/repair support※2," which are the causes of dry eyes, and is also designed for use while wearing soft contact lenses.

In recent years, with changes in lifestyle and an increase in contact lens users, the number of people complaining of dry eyes (dryness of eyes) and associated eye fatigue is increasing. When the balance of the tear film is disturbed, dry spots (areas of tear deficiency) form, exposing the corneal surface, making the eyes dry and susceptible to strain. Rohto Pharmaceutical has continued chondroitin research for over 20 years, focusing on differences in molecular weight. Based on this research knowledge, they have achieved a 1% formulation of chondroitin (high-molecular weight) in over-the-counter eye drops.
