Special Exhibition in April 2026 Featuring Works by Photographer Sho

“Embracing the Dawn” “Torii of the Living Waters” Resol Co., Ltd. (Location: Mobara, Chiba Prefecture; President: Naoto Sano) will hold a special exhibition of works by Photographer Sho at the 'Resol Gallery Ueno' within the living lobby of its tourist hotel, Hotel Resol Ueno (7-2-9 Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo), from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, to Thursday, April 30, 2026. As part of its hotel development rooted in the 'Ueno' area, where art and old-town culture harmonize, Hotel Resol Ueno has been utilizing its 'Resol Gallery Ueno' since 2024 to create encounters between up-and-coming artists shaping future culture and traveling guests. The gallery has showcased a variety of genres, including oil paintings and prints, featuring a wide range of creators from seasoned artists to emerging talents. It serves as a place where tourists can casually engage with art and is enjoyed by the general public as well as hotel guests. The fourteenth artist to be featured, Photographer Sho, graduated from Kitasato University and worked as an SE, designer, and marketer before becoming a photographer. In this exhibition, in addition to the two main pieces, several other works will be displayed. The works other than the main pieces are intentionally left without titles or captions, reflecting the artist's desire for 'each viewer to feel and receive the work freely.' In the cold morning air, Mount Fuji stands majestically, enveloped by blooming cherry blossoms. The piece affirms the silence and tranquility before dawn and the hope of transitioning into morning, embodied by the powerful presence of Mount Fuji at the center. It gives viewers a sense of quiet strength, sharpened meditative focus, peace, and hope. “Torii of the Living Waters” The spiral of life played out by the 'motion' of 400,000 liters of water gushing daily. In contrast, the 'stillness' of the torii gate and pond, standing in silence. This contrast represents purification and regeneration, capturing the image of a sacred domain (the water torii) where life constantly circulates and is cleansed. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to exhibit my work in the wonderful space of Hotel Resol Ueno. The two main pieces are infused with 'quiet strength,' 'hope for the future,' and 'Zen.' It's not about flashiness, but the energy that resides in stillness. A positive inspiration that emerges quietly but with conviction, like the moments before dawn. My goal was to create a viewing experience that fosters 'space' in the viewer's mind for calmness and healing, leading to hope and new discoveries within themselves. I hope that through these photographs, within the sophisticated space of Hotel Resol Ueno, viewers can feel the academic values of Japan and the 'spirit of Zen.'
