RescueNow Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazumasa Asakura; hereinafter 'RescueNow'), a provider of crisis management information services, has added a 'Notification Function' to 'RESCUENOW', its next-generation platform that supports the practice of 'Operational Resilience (*)'.

This function realizes integration with the 'RESCUENOW Announcement Service', which allows distribution of messages to specific locations, and the 'Safety Confirmation' and 'Location Confirmation' features of 'RESCUENOW Imatome', the core of initial response during disasters. Users can instantly grasp important notifications from the global navigation upon login, enabling rapid decision-making and initial response during disasters or emergencies.

*What is Operational Resilience?

It is a risk management concept that, while based on traditional disaster prevention and BCP (Business Continuity Planning), pursues greater 'effectiveness' in line with the complex social structure of today. Based on the premise that disasters and crises are inevitable, it shifts the focus to 'how to minimize the impact and recover quickly', emphasizing flexible response and recovery capabilities. Its scope extends beyond a single company to include the entire supply chain, including business partners. While initially advocated in the financial sector, it is a concept that should become a new standard required of all companies across industries.

What is the Notification Function?

The 'Notification Function' is a feature that aggregates notifications (announcements, requests for safety confirmation, location confirmation, etc.) delivered from various services within the 'RESCUENOW' platform in real-time to a 'bell icon' located at the top right of the screen.

Features of the 'Notification Function'

① Real-time Aggregation of Notifications from Linked Services

Important notifications from different services and functions, such as 'RESCUENOW Announcements' and the 'Safety Confirmation' and 'Location Confirmation' features of 'RESCUENOW Imatome', are aggregated in real-time to a single 'bell icon' on the global navigation.

●Target Notifications:

・New announcement distribution via 'RESCUENOW Announcements'

・Response request notifications for 'Safety Confirmation' and 'Location Confirmation' from 'RESCUENOW Imatome'

② Direct Navigation to Each Screen

A workflow has been established allowing direct one-click navigation from the notification list to the target page. This maximizes the speed of initial response without needing to open emails.

●RESCUENOW Announcements: Access the latest announcement text directly from the bell icon or notification list without going through email.

●RESCUENOW Imatome: Clicking opens the response screen for safety or location confirmation directly, allowing immediate input.

③ Excellent Visibility and Smart Automatic Management

The notification list screen incorporates various features to maintain a clean display and enhance user convenience.

●Unread Badge (Count Display): The number of unread items is displayed in a constantly visible position while logged in, preventing important messages from being overlooked.

●Easy-to-Identify Service Name Badges: Each notification is displayed in a badge format indicating the source service (RESCUENOW Announcements / Safety Confirmation / Location Confirmation).

●Visual Emphasis for Unread Items: Unread notifications have an orange circle mark next to the date/time, and the title is bolded. Opening the details automatically marks them as read, and the badge count decreases.

●Search and Filter Functions: Allows filtering by 'Show Unread Only' and keyword search targeting titles.

●Automatic Deletion After 30 Days: Only notifications from the past 30 days are displayed on the screen. Older ones are automatically hidden, maintaining a clean interface.

Future Outlook

RescueNow will continue to link various services developed on 'RESCUENOW' with the 'Notification Function' to support the 'practice of Operational Resilience'.

By consolidating important notifications from the crisis management services used by a company into the 'Notification Function', we aim to support the efficient completion of a series of activities – from 'information gathering' and 'decision-making' to 'recovery actions' during emergencies – starting from this function.
