Relive Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture; CEO: Takashi Sasaki), with the support of Jichitai Link Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture; CEO: Ginshiro Matsumoto), began soliciting donations through the "Corporate Version of Hometown Tax" (public solicitation type) on April 2, 2026.
Under this initiative, which envisions donations of up to 100 million yen per municipality (totaling cash and in-kind contributions), the company is publicly soliciting local governments from across Japan that aim to support the physical health and improve the quality of life of their residents by utilizing "Relive Wear," a line of functional clothing developed and sold by Relive.
**Background**
In Japan, as the population continues to age, the importance of extending healthy life expectancy and preventing disease is increasing. According to the Cabinet Office, the population aged 65 and over has exceeded 36 million, accounting for approximately 29% of the total population—a record high. Against this backdrop of rising medical and nursing care costs, awareness of and interest in health are growing.
Furthermore, local governments across the country are advancing various initiatives aimed at health promotion and disease prevention.
On the other hand, it has been pointed out that initiatives such as exercise habits and lifestyle improvements are difficult to sustain and do not easily take root as daily routines. A survey by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare shows that the proportion of people with regular exercise habits remains at only about 30%, illustrating the difficulty of maintaining lifestyle improvements.
In response to this background, "creating an environment where people can become healthy naturally" was added to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Health Japan 21" initiative. This calls for the creation of environments where everyone, including those with little interest in health, can adopt healthy behaviors without undue effort. Functional wear that can be "just worn" or "used in daily life" is easily accessible to the elderly, as well as to those without exercise habits or high health awareness. Relive Wear aims to assist as a catalyst for behaviors that can be sustained effortlessly.
To date, our company has expanded the use of our functional wear, "Relive Wear," among the elderly, care workers, and in physically demanding fields such as manufacturing and construction. The cumulative number of units sold in the series has exceeded 5 million*, and it is utilized in a wide variety of settings.
Furthermore, through joint pilot projects with local governments and implementation within companies, we have conducted demonstrations across the country to verify the potential for its use in residents' daily lives and labor environments.
Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to improving the health and quality of life of local residents in Japan, a country facing a declining birthrate and an aging population. In addition to addressing regional challenges associated with aging and frailty (frailty prevention), we will expand the possibilities of new health support through functional wear by encouraging its use among a wide range of people, including the working generation. By collaborating with local governments to proceed with demonstrations and verifications, we will explore the potential for utilization in ways that suit the specific needs of each region. In doing so, we aim to contribute to solving regional issues and promote initiatives that support the future of these communities.
*Totaling period: July 1, 2019 – February 28, 2026*
**About Jichitai Link Co., Ltd.**
Jichitai Link Co., Ltd. operates the "Corporate Version of Hometown Tax Donation Support Business," providing one-stop services ranging from matching municipalities with corporations to assisting with donation procedures. The company facilitates collaboration between both parties by proposing system utilization to corporations and providing tax payment guidance to municipalities.
Launched by the Hope Group in September 2021, the business has been commissioned by 584 municipalities nationwide as of the end of December 2025. This project represents the second instance of support for the "public-offering type" corporate hometown tax donation and marks the first time the company has utilized a public-offering scheme.
**Public Call Overview** In this initiative, we will provide "Relive Wear" as an in-kind donation (which can also be combined with cash donations) and select recipient local governments from across Japan through a public call for proposals. Target municipalities are expected to be those currently engaged in initiatives that contribute to the "improvement of residents' lives"—such as health, medical care, welfare, education, and disaster prevention—and those capable of establishing a verification system for the product's utilization in collaboration with universities and medical institutions. **What is Relive Wear?**
Relive Wear emits far-infrared radiation, promoting blood circulation simply by wearing it. Its defining feature is "Relive Processing," which physically supports body movement. This is achieved by blending multiple specially processed minerals into the ink and printing it along key points of the body. Relive Processing not only enhances athletic performance but also supports everyday physical movement when incorporated into your daily routine.
