ReGACY Launches Support Program for Startups Collaborating with Iwata City, Shizuoka

ReGACY Innovation Group Inc. announced that starting May 12, it has begun accepting applications for a co-creation subsidy and support program in partnership with Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, aimed at fostering new business creation and demonstration projects between local SMEs and startups. Iwata City is one of Japan's leading manufacturing hubs, home to companies like Yamaha Motor. In recent years, the city has been actively working on creating new industries through co-creation with startups, promoting collaboration between local firms and startups with advanced technologies. Since fiscal year 2025, ReGACY has been collaborating with Iwata City to develop long-term strategies for new industry creation by appointing an Industrial Innovation Manager. This program, which officially launches this fiscal year, is part of that strategy, aiming to build a new industrial cluster by facilitating the transformation of local companies and the establishment of startups through co-creation. The program is seeking startups and SMEs that aim to accelerate commercialization through demonstration experiments and prototype development. The application period runs from May 12 to June 19, 2026. Eligible applicants include collaborative teams of local SMEs and startups, as well as researchers planning to launch a business. Supported expenses include raw materials, parts, and design costs. ReGACY will handle overall strategy and planning, as well as matching and project support to strongly back the creation of new business fields.
