The Japan Recycle Carpet Association (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Tadachika Kondo) has welcomed Tokyu Land Corporation as a new member, bringing the total number of member companies to 89. The adoption of circular tile carpets is becoming the new standard in the construction and real estate industry, and further widespread adoption is expected in the future.
Regarding the Expansion of Member Companies Tile carpets are widely used in office buildings and commercial facilities. However, the large volume of waste generated during replacement has been a significant challenge. To address this, the Japan Recycle Carpet Association is promoting initiatives toward a sustainable society, focusing on the promotion and awareness of recycled tile carpets.
With the addition of Tokyu Land Corporation, the association now features a complete lineup of players essential to the horizontal recycling cycle: companies that use tile carpets, companies that recycle and reprocess waste tile carpets, and companies that manufacture recycled tile carpets.
Membership has now reached 89 companies, and we will continue our efforts to expand the implementation and promotion of these practices across the entire industry.

Tokyu Land Corporation, Urban Unit, Urban Development Division, Executive Officer and Division Director, Minoru Hirachi
I would like to express my sincere respect for the daily activities of the association's members.
Furthermore, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to join the Japan Recycle Carpet Association and work alongside all of you toward the realization of a circular society.
As a comprehensive developer, under our slogan "WE ARE GREEN," we have been promoting environmentally conscious businesses, including our pioneering entry into the renewable energy sector.
Regarding waste such as carpets generated during tenant replacement work in office buildings and other properties we operate, we have been actively working with partner companies and tenants to promote collection, sorting, and recycling.
With this membership, we hope to further evolve these initiatives and strive to achieve both the creation of comfortable spaces and the reduction of waste.
We look forward to your continued guidance and support.
Japan Recycle Carpet Association, Chairman, Tadachika Kondo
Since our establishment on November 1, 2023, a large number of companies—89 in total—have resonated with our activities and joined the association in just about two years. This rapid expansion over the past two years indicates that the swift progress in decarbonization and resource circulation across various companies is a major contributing factor.
We are pleased to welcome the major developer Tokyu Land Corporation to the association.
The participation of a major developer is a symbol that the construction and real estate industry has begun to move in earnest toward resource circulation. We will continue to deepen cooperation among member companies, work on improving collection schemes and the quality of recycled materials, and continue to take steady steps forward with the goal of promoting a sustainable society that "starts from the ground up."

Currently, approximately 5 million square meters per year, equivalent to about 20% of the Japanese tile carpet market, are being utilized in a horizontal recycling loop. This initiative has been realized through a system where (1) users, (2) collectors, (3) recyclers, and (4) manufacturers cooperate, and the association was established as an organization where these four parties can come together across industry boundaries.
