The "JAPAN PODCAST AWARDS," with the concept "Let's find the podcasts you absolutely must listen to right now," began in 2019 as Japan's first award ceremony dedicated to podcasts, and this is its 7th year. Various podcasts are selected in cooperation with audio content platformers across Japan, and judged by a panel of judges active in diverse fields. For the 7th awards, two new divisions were established: the "Media Content Company Division" and the "General Creator Division."

The Grand Prize winners were TBS Podcast's "Jane Sue and Mika Horii's OVER THE SUN" (Media Content Company Division) and "Yuru Gengo Radio" (General Creator Division), both of which have garnered passionate support from a large fan base.
