Intentionally "Dull Gray"!? Next-Generation Putiputi® Made from Recycled Materials, "Shin Recycle Puchi" to Be Sold Nationwide from April 1st

Kawakami Sangyo Co., Ltd. (6-2 Gobancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Keisuke Yasunaga), which manufactures and sells "Putiputi®" bubble wrap, will expand the nationwide sales of "Shin Recycle Puchi" from April 1st, which had been sold regionally since July 1st.

"Shin Recycle Puchi" is an environmentally friendly, next-generation "Putiputi®" manufactured using over 70% post-consumer recycled material, which is raw material made from used packaging discharged from households and businesses.

Products using post-consumer recycled materials tend to have a dull gray color. Therefore, during the initial development phase, the company considered a policy of restoring it to a transparent color similar to regular products. While it was technically possible to achieve a similar transparent color, the company chose to commercialize the product with the "dull gray" color intentionally retained, with the aim of establishing it in society as a "symbol of resource recycling."

The company aims to promote the widespread adoption of this product, fostering a society where consumers consider sustainability and deliberately choose to use products that are a "symbol of resource recycling," warmly accepting products wrapped in "dull gray."

Furthermore, although the product was initially sold only around the Atsugi factory, the company decided to switch to nationwide sales due to requests from other areas. This expansion aims to increase opportunities for more people to experience this product.

At our company, we have set forth the "Putiputi Environmental Declaration 2030" and are promoting initiatives centered on resource circulation. Through the creation of a plastic circulation system focused on recycling, we aim to reduce CO₂ emissions by 20% by 2030 compared to 2020, striving to realize a sustainable society.
