Akihiro Miwa passed away last month on June 20. "Life Counseling for Living with a Smile," a collection of Miwa's answers from the popular series "Trouble Twists" in Asahi Shimbun be, will be released on July 21.

Akihiro Miwa

Born in Nagasaki City in 1935. Dropped out of the attached high school of the National Music University. Debuted as a professional singer at age 16. "Meke Meke" in 1957 and "Yoitomae no Uta" in 1966 were big hits. Participated in the premiere performance of the theater laboratory "Teikyo Jakkai" in 1967 and starred in "The Hunchback of Aomori Prefecture." Since then, he has been active in theater, recitals, television, radio, and lectures. In 1997, he received the Yomiuri Drama Award for Best Actor for his role as Elisabeth in "The Eagle with Two Heads." In the fall of 2018, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Tokyo" for his achievements in various fields by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In 2025, he will receive the 60th Annual Kinokuniya Theater Award Special Prize. Died in June 2026.
