Thank you, 10 Million Visitors! We're giving away commemorative goods with our gratitude!

Thank you to everyone who has visited us over the past 20 years since our opening. We are truly grateful.

As a small token of our appreciation, the Library and Information Center will be giving away special notebooks featuring a newly drawn illustration by Nara-based picture book author Yoshitaka Okada to 100 visitors each day for 10 days, from April 9th (Thursday) to April 19th (Sunday) (excluding closing days).

Borrow a total of 6 books or magazines from the Library and Information Center.

Present your "borrowing receipt" at the 2F Information Counter.

(One notebook per person during the campaign period. "Borrowing receipts" are valid only on the day of issue. Limited to 100 notebooks per day, available while supplies last.)

Yoshitaka Okada

Born in Osaka in 1956. His works include "Hey, Penguin-san" and "Limited Express Bento Box" (Fukuinkan Shoten), "Chikuwa no Wa-san," "Kombu no Bu-san," and "Udon no U-yan" (Bronze Shinsha), and "Haburashi-kun" (Hikarinokuni). Resides in Nara Prefecture. In 2012, he received the 3rd Liblo Picture Book Award for "Chikuwa no Wa-san" (Bronze Shinsha). The Library and Information Center held original drawing exhibitions in 2019 and 2025.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026 (Reiwa 8), the Nara Prefectural Library and Information Center welcomed its 10 millionth visitor.

This milestone was achieved over 7,449 days since the library's opening on November 3, 2005 (Heisei 17).

To everyone who has ever visited the Library and Information Center: this number is a treasure we have built together, and we are filled with nothing but gratitude.

Furthermore, we were blessed with double joy this fiscal year, as we celebrated our 20th anniversary on November 3, 2025 (Reiwa 7).

We will use this significant milestone as encouragement to continue striving to be of service to your daily lives in any way we can.
