Kanagawa Prefecture is promoting the practical application, dissemination, and utilization of life-support robots through initiatives such as the 'Sagami Robot Industry Special Zone.' This time, to promote the adoption of care robots (including ICT devices for supporting caregiving tasks) in nursing care facilities, we are calling for facilities willing to participate in pilot introductions and effectiveness verification of care robots that contribute to solving challenges related to productivity improvement and enhancing the QOL of care recipients.
1. Overview of the Recruitment
This project involves the trial introduction of care robots into nursing care facilities in Kanagawa Prefecture that are enthusiastic about adopting such technologies, followed by verification of their effectiveness.
We are recruiting nursing care facilities in three categories: 'Residential - Monitoring,' 'Residential - Meal Support,' and 'Home Care,' to conduct trial introductions and effectiveness verification of care robots. For the residential categories, analysis of verification results will be conducted in collaboration with universities.
This is the second round of recruitment (Note). We are now calling for nursing care facilities interested in introducing care robots under the 'Residential - Meal Support' and 'Home Care' categories.
(1) Eligible Applicants
'Residential - Meal Support'
Nursing care facilities within Kanagawa Prefecture that plan to introduce meal support devices to reduce the workload associated with meal service tasks.
'Home Care'
Nursing care facilities within Kanagawa Prefecture that will select one of the following five themes—'Voice Input and Care Records,' 'General Work Support (e.g., shift scheduling),' 'Attendance Management,' 'Medication Support,' or 'Communication Support'—to address their specific challenges by introducing support devices.
(2) Application Period
From July 16, Reiwa 8 (Thursday) to August 14, Reiwa 8 (Friday)
(3) Selection of Nursing Care Facilities
Facilities will be selected based on document reviews by external experts, evaluating the content of the application forms.
(Note) The first round of recruitment for the 'Residential - Monitoring' category was conducted starting June 23, Reiwa 8 (Tuesday).
2. Number of Facilities to be Recruited
'Residential - Meal Support': Approximately 8 facilities
'Home Care': Approximately 5 facilities
3. Support Provided
The 'Care Robot Consultant,' established by the secretariat (Note 1), who possesses specialized expertise in digital transformation (DX) in care settings, will provide the following operational support. Additionally, rental fees and related costs for the trial-introduced devices will be subsidized (Note 2).
(1) Before Robot Introduction
Formation of project teams, on-site explanations, identification of challenges, and risk assessment
(2) During Robot Introduction
Training and advisory support on device utilization
(3) After Robot Introduction
Data analysis, support for obtaining the 'Productivity Improvement Promotion System Add-on' fee, and advice for further utilization of care robots
(Note 1) Contractor: Zenko General Research Institute Co., Ltd.
(Note 2) The amount of support will be determined within the budget, considering the circumstances of each nursing care facility.
