The book gained immense popularity for effectively helping children quit thumb-sucking through a humorous character representing a thumb callus. Its long-term success is attributed to strong word-of-mouth recommendations from parents who experienced immediate results in their children's habits. A new book by the same author focusing on using chopsticks is scheduled for November 2025.
