Polimill Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo / Representative Directors: Ayame Ito, Nonoka Taniguchi), a company leading the social implementation of generative AI, conducted a two-day introductory training session on the use of "QommonsAI" (Commons AI), a generative AI for local governments, for officials in Taka Town, Hyogo Prefecture, on March 17th and 18th, 2026.
Training Overview
Implementing Municipality: Taka Town, Hyogo Prefecture
Training Curriculum: Introductory Course (2 days, 4 sessions total)
Participant Characteristics: Approximately half of the officials had used generative AI on smartphones or other devices. Only a small number used it for work: 1 person about 3 days a week, and 3-4 people about once a week. This is prior to full-scale implementation.
Background: Full-scale deployment across the entire agency is planned following LGWAN compatibility in April, and this training serves as its starting point.
A Start Blending Excitement and Anxiety Ahead of Full Agency Deployment in April
In Taka Town, QommonsAI is scheduled for full agency-wide deployment following LGWAN compatibility in April, and this training was positioned as its starting point.
While participants expressed anticipation, saying, "How will generative AI change our work?", there were also voices of concern, such as "I'm not good with computers, so I won't be able to handle it..."
On the first day, the training was conducted in a format where groups of 3-5 people gathered around one computer, exchanging ideas as they progressed. In response to prior requests from the department in charge, the RAG function (private knowledge) and file attachment features were highlighted for officials primarily responsible for counter services. This was well-received, with comments like, "It's March, so I'll prepare handover documents for transfers," and "It seems easy to revise plans that have been accumulating!"
On the second day, based on the reactions from the first day, a greeting message creation workshop was urgently added. By increasing the time for hands-on interaction with QommonsAI, even officials who initially expressed anxiety were seen actively discussing within their groups, saying, "No, shouldn't we do it this way?" and "The generative AI says this, so let's try inputting it."
When the greeting messages were completed, comments such as "If such good sentences can be created so quickly, I wish I had encountered this sooner" were heard.
