Penguin Labs (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Shimpei Akatsuka; hereinafter 'Penguin Labs') has been selected for the 'FY2026 Gunma Agri x NETSUGEN Co-creation Demonstration Project' hosted by Gunma Prefecture. In this project, we will collaborate with Tamamura Town and the Chubu Agricultural Office to launch a demonstration of a 'Future Value Simulator' that supports optimal crop selection through 2100, centered on our proprietary data platform, 'TWINZ Plus'.

Background and Purpose: From Experience to 'Scientific Evidence'-Based Agriculture Currently, many production areas are facing accelerating climate change risks. In Tamamura Town, there is an urgent need to establish unique, strong local products and provide concrete support measures for companies considering agricultural entry. However, relying solely on 'individual experience' for crop selection and investment decisions looking decades ahead poses significant risks for producers and companies. In this project, we will utilize 'TWINZ Plus,' an agricultural decision-support platform developed by Penguin Labs. We aim to realize a robust agriculture that can remain profitable for the next 100 years by not only viewing climate change as a risk but by converting it into a data-driven 'offensive strength.'

Two Pillars of the Demonstration Project This project addresses the following two issues: 1. Formulation of guidelines for the town's unique 'next-generation brand crops' (Internal production area formation) - Content: Using future climate prediction data in 1km mesh units, we will identify 'crops that will truly survive' until 2100, which are resistant to Tamamura Town's specific weather (strong winds, extreme heat) and can maintain profitability. - Deliverables: We will formulate a 'Next-Generation Brand Crop Selection Report' based on scientific evidence to minimize investment risks for producers. 2. Development of an 'Investment Decision Simulator App' (External corporate attraction) - Content: We will develop a digital tool that allows companies considering entry to instantly execute revenue simulations based on future climate risks. - Utilization: Used as a 'weapon with scientific persuasiveness' that other municipalities lack, to improve the success rate of attracting excellent companies to areas like Goryo and Iikura in Tamamura Town.

The Ultimate Data Platform 'TWINZ Plus': Integrating Global Perspectives with Individual Farmland Analysis The core of this demonstration is 'TWINZ Plus,' an agricultural and climate data integration platform developed by Penguin Labs. 'TWINZ Plus' is a world-class advanced data engine that combines a 'bird's-eye view' (wide-area weather and satellite data) that overlooks the entire globe, similar to Google DeepMind's 'Alpha Earth,' with a 'worm's-eye view' that analyzes Japanese farmland at the individual plot level (polygon).

Future Outlook: From Gunma to Japan, and to the World Using the results in Tamamura Town as a foothold, we aim for the following developments: 1. Horizontal expansion within Gunma Prefecture (FY2027 and beyond): Establishing analysis logic for Gunma's unique climate challenges and promoting introduction to other municipalities. 2. Support for sustainable brand production areas: Realizing low-input, high-profit agriculture through data-driven crop selection. 3. Global expansion and educational impact: Delivering optimal solutions to regions worldwide suffering from climate change and contributing to next-generation agricultural talent development.
