IDA-Involved International Disability Alliance to Hold Special Lecture in Japan Ahead of Global Disability Summit 2027

PEACE INCLUSION PIECE (PIP), represented by Representative Director Chitose Minamikita, will co-host the special lecture 'A New Stage for Business, Welfare, and International Cooperation' in three cities: Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka, starting April 13, 2025. We will invite José Maria Viera, Executive Director of the International Disability Alliance (IDA), to discuss the international trends and the roles that corporations, welfare organizations, and civil society should play, in anticipation of the 'Global Disability Summit (Asia-Pacific version)' to be held in Japan in 2027.

About PEACE INCLUSION PIECE **PIP:** With the mission 'To create an inclusive society where all people can participate in all activities such as social, economic, cultural, and political,' we aim to realize a society where diverse people respect each other and can demonstrate their abilities. Specific activities include advocacy for the ratification and implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, employment support and training programs for people with disabilities, consulting to improve accessibility, and promotion of disability sports and cultural activities. This organization is operated through individual and corporate memberships, supporting memberships, donations, and grants.

**IDA:** IDA is a global alliance of international disability NGOs and a global leader in promoting the adoption and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It currently represents over 100 disability organizations operating in more than 100 countries, with approximately 80% of its member organizations located in developing countries. IDA conducts a wide range of activities, including advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, policy recommendations, information provision, and capacity building support.
