Seven Star Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'Seven Star') and Rakuten Payment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'Rakuten Payment') announce their partnership on the shared loyalty program 'Rakuten Point Card'.
As part of this collaboration, the 'Rakuten Point Card' (Note 1) will be gradually introduced at all locations of the supermarket chain 'Seven Star' starting around autumn 2026.
At stores, customers who present their 'Rakuten Point Card' at payment will earn 1 'Rakuten Point' for every 200 yen (excluding tax) spent, and points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 point = 1 yen toward future purchases.
In conjunction with this partnership, Seven Star will discontinue its membership card 'Seven Star Shopping Card' (Note 2), which features the 'Rakuten Edy' electronic money function, and transition to a newly designed 'Seven Star Edy-Rakuten Point Card' that integrates both the 'Rakuten Point Card' and 'Rakuten Edy' functions.
Customers who use 'Rakuten Edy' for payment while presenting their 'Rakuten Point Card' will receive up to 1.0% in 'Rakuten Points' as cashback on the transaction amount.
Seven Star has deepened its collaboration with the Rakuten Group by introducing the IC-based electronic money 'Rakuten Edy' in November 2008 and the store traffic service 'Rakuten Check' from October 2025. The introduction of the 'Rakuten Point Card' will further strengthen data-driven marketing and promotional strategies. By deepening ties with the Rakuten Group, which boasts over 100 million members, Seven Star aims to expand its customer base—particularly attracting new users—boost sales, and enhance customer service.
Seven Star and Rakuten Payment will continue to work together to improve customer convenience and satisfaction.
