Nakijin Village, Okinawa, Distributes 'Nakijin Village Edy-Rakuten Point Card' with 20,000 Yen Loaded in 'Rakuten Edy' to All Households

Nakijin Village, Okinawa Prefecture (hereinafter 'Nakijin Village') and Rakuten Payment, Inc. (hereinafter 'Rakuten Payment') announce that, as part of the 'Nakijin Village Project for Priority Support to Address Rising Prices and Regional Revitalization,' they will distribute the 'Nakijin Village Edy-Rakuten Point Card,' loaded with 20,000 yen worth of 'Rakuten Edy,' to all households in Nakijin Village (Note 1) from Monday, June 15, 2026, to Friday, July 31, 2026 (Note 2).

This project aims to support household budgets and revitalize consumption activities within the village in response to recent price hikes in energy and food. The card comes pre-loaded with 20,000 yen in 'Rakuten Edy,' which residents can use for daily shopping, thereby easing their financial burden while stimulating the local economy.

Furthermore, Nakijin Village, in collaboration with the Nakijin Village Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is promoting the expansion of cashless payment-compatible stores within the village. Through 'Rakuten Edy,' the village aims to accelerate the digitalization of the local economy and create a community where residents can more conveniently use cashless payments for their daily shopping.

Nakijin Village has been deepening its collaboration with the Rakuten Group for many years, including listing on 'Rakuten Furusato Nozei' (hometown tax donation) since 2017, implementing the 'Consumer Support for Daily Life Project' using the IC-type electronic money 'Rakuten Edy' from 2022 to 2024, and the 'Nakijin Village Project for Priority Support Grants for Rising Energy and Food Prices' in 2025. By implementing this 'Nakijin Village Project for Priority Support to Address Rising Prices and Regional Revitalization' with 'Rakuten Edy,' the village will further strengthen its partnership with the Rakuten Group, which has a strong customer base, and promote the provision of a cashless environment within the village.

Nakijin Village and Rakuten Payment will continue to strive to provide users with a highly convenient payment environment and improve satisfaction.
