The effectiveness of "medical x household" in addressing challenges in prolonged cancer treatment.

Due to the prolongation of cancer treatment and the increase in medical expenses, there is a growing number of household financial problems that cannot be solved even with existing systems.

In actual consultation settings, there is an increasing need for support that includes not only medical expenses but also income reduction and living costs.

Against this backdrop, the Patient Household Support Association, a general incorporated association, will hold an online event focusing on the role FPs play in the medical field.

You will be able to experience how FPs are involved in consultations that cannot be fully addressed by systems alone, based on actual case studies.

Anyone interested is welcome to participate.

Even those with little experience in FP consultation are welcome.

Are you explaining, "It's okay because there's a high-cost medical care system"?

Due to the prolongation of cancer treatment and the increase in medical expenses, there are increasing cases where existing systems cannot solve problems, leading to abandonment of treatment or impacts on daily life.

This "economic toxicity of cancer treatment" has become an issue even in the medical field.

While FPs are becoming increasingly involved, there are also more FPs who feel, "I just end up explaining the system" or "I don't know how far I should delve into it."

The Patient Household Support Association is a non-profit organization of FPs that supports patients.

On the day of the event, the first half will convey the current situation and challenges surrounding "cancer treatment and household finances," and the second half will feature a cross-talk discussing the actual patient support utilizing FP qualifications.

Recommended for those who:

Have an FP qualification but don't know how to utilize it in consultations

Want to know about FPs who provide support alongside medical professionals in hospitals

Want to expand their consultation scope and expertise as an independent FP

Are interested in cancer patient support but don't know how to get involved

Feel uncomfortable with "just ending with a system explanation"

Want to start engaging in FP consultations from now on

Program (tentative)

FPs involved in daily patient support will share actual consultation cases where problems cannot be solved even with the "high-cost medical care system." This content will allow you to specifically learn what FPs can do in situations where system explanations alone are insufficient.

Current situation surrounding cancer treatment and household finances

Sharing challenges (money issues that patients and their families often face, such as medical expenses, living expenses, and income reduction)

Cross-talk by FPs involved in patient support (how to utilize it for consultations and proposals as an independent FP, and expansion to lectures, writing, interviews, etc.)

Introduction to learning and activities at the association

Introduction of the operating organization

We, the Patient Household Support Association, a general incorporated association, are a non-profit FP organization established in 2023 to address the issue of economic toxicity in cancer treatment.

In addition to online consultations for patients nationwide, we are working to provide support that considers the entire household budget, including medical expenses and income reduction, in collaboration with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies.

To date, we have responded to over 200 patient consultations.

We provide support that goes beyond just providing information on systems, helping to organize how much expenditure can be expected in the future for that individual and how to protect their livelihood.

This event will be based on these actual consultation cases.

Patient Household Support Association, Supporter Learning Department

Established in April 2023, it is a non-profit organization of FPs (Financial Planners) aiming to resolve the economic toxicity of cancer treatment. It offers free online consultations for patients (covering medical expense systems and all aspects of money in treatment and daily life), conducts consultation sessions in collaboration with medical social workers and nurses at designated cancer care hospitals, and operates Chiba Medical Cafe.

Amidst the current need for even greater economic patient support due to the high-cost medical care system and medical system reforms, we are keenly interested in patient support.
