About the Book
"Learning from Haieishi Atsuyo Kamitani: The 'Okagesama' Way of Thinking to Boost Your Happiness Sensitivity" (Author: Mayako Fishburn)
The "Okagesama" way of thinking, which boosts your happiness sensitivity and makes you notice the happiness around you.
This way of thinking, learned from Haieishi Atsuyo Kamitani, is cultivated through gratitude towards all things.
The protagonist of this book is Atsuyo Kamitani, who can foresee the future with the rare ability of "Haiei."
The author has spent a long time learning about "gratitude and happiness" from Ms. Kamitani.
Ms. Kamitani's teaching is the extremely simple principle of "gratitude to all things."
While preaching the importance of daily gratitude for everything and that all is "Okagesama" (thanks to you/something), she also supports many people with their worries through "Haiei."
"Haiei," as the name suggests, means "to pray and chant," and it has many shamanistic elements.
She simply prays to the ancestors of the client. Then, she connects with the client's ancestors, and many words overflow as "Ei" (chants). Ms. Kamitani calls these "Okage" (blessings/favors) from ancestors, and teaches that they are important messages from ancestors to their descendants.
Many of these "Okage" are often predictive, and in this book, you can read examples of "Okage" that later became actual events through sessions between Ms. Kamitani and the author, and through client testimonials.
In addition, the book is filled with numerous examples of the "reciprocal relationship between gratitude and happiness" that the author learned from Haieishi Atsuyo Kamitani, including Ms. Kamitani's upbringing, work, family life, and the improvement of happiness sensitivity through the "Okagesama" way of thinking.
