Star-studded Lineup Announced for SSFF & ASIA 2026 Opening! M-1 Champion Kuruma's Directorial Debut 'BREAK SHOT' Cast to Attend

The Academy Awards® accredited Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2026 has confirmed additional guests for the Opening Ceremony to be held on Monday, May 25th.

Today's announcement features guests from the film 'BREAK SHOT,' marking the directorial debut of Kuruma Takahira (Reiwa Roman). In addition to Director Takahira, cast members including his comedy partner Kemuri Matsui and lead actor Tomohiro Kodama (Sarugorilla) will be in attendance. (Kemuri Matsui will only participate in the Red Carpet event.) It was also revealed that previously announced guests Aoi Morikawa, Oshiro Maeda, Kan Takahashi, and Yuto Endo are part of this film's cast.

Furthermore, for the special screening of 'Symphony No.0,' a collaboration with the Yokohama International Film Festival, Director Yugo Kanno—renowned for composing themes for 'Detective Conan' and 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'—will attend. He will be joined by lead actresses Arisa Urahama and Hana Kumaido, as well as cast member Karen Aizome.

They join an already impressive list including Festival President Tetsuya Bessho, Ambassador LiLiCo, and guests like Takumi Saitoh and Shogo Hama. Tickets for the ceremony are currently available for additional sale, although Red Carpet set tickets are already sold out.
