We support 'April Dream,' an initiative that encourages people to share their dreams on April 1st. This press release represents the dream of ozora Inc.
Our Dream Have you ever wanted to fly in the sky?
To soar like a bird and view familiar scenery from a completely different perspective above. That experience is now possible just by opening a browser on your smartphone or PC.
ozora Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director: Gen Takahashi) is a drone startup with the mission of 'Bringing the possibilities of the sky to everyone.' Our developed product, 'GlobeXplore Web,' is a free, browser-based simulator that allows you to fly freely from a drone's perspective over real cities and natural landscapes around the world. No app installation is required; you can start the moment the inspiration strikes.
Drones often carry an image of being 'expensive,' 'difficult,' or 'hard to know where to fly.' In reality, the hurdles to getting started in Japan—such as the cost of the aircraft and understanding flight regulations—are significant. Currently, there is almost no environment where someone who thinks, 'I’d like to try flying,' can actually experience it that same day.
We want to eliminate the wall between 'wanting to try' and 'having tried.' By creating an entrance to the sky within the screen, we enable everyone to experience flight. That is the starting point of our dream.
What you can do with GlobeXplore GlobeXplore Web (https://web.globexplore.app) is a free, browser-based drone simulator released in February 2026. No app installation, high-performance PC, or physical drone is required. You can start flying immediately just by accessing the site.
From the sky above your own home to world-famous landmarks. By utilizing Google Maps 3D data, you can fly freely over real cities, tourist spots, and natural landscapes worldwide. From the streets of Tokyo and the surroundings of Mt. Fuji to the cityscapes of New York and Paris, you can enjoy global scenery from above. There is a unique joy in seeing familiar views from a completely different perspective.
Simple controls, yet deep functionality. It supports both smartphone touch controls and controllers. It features multiple flight modes, ranging from a GPS mode that makes stable flight easy, to an Acro mode for advanced users. Beginners can enjoy a casual 'air walk' in GPS mode, and as they get used to it, they can challenge themselves with flight sensations that mimic real aircraft. The design allows you to step up at your own pace without strain.
If you fail, you can try again as many times as you like. Unlike real aircraft, you can try bold maneuvers without worrying about the risk of crashing or repair costs. The ability to experience flight repeatedly with peace of mind is a unique charm of a simulator.
Thanks to this accessibility, the site has seen traffic not only from within Japan but also from overseas, with over 1,000 users.
Who we want to use this For those interested in drones but unsure where to start: GlobeXplore Web is the perfect 'first step.' Before buying an aircraft or considering certification, try flying on your screen first. Just knowing what it feels like to fly in the sky will significantly bridge the gap between you and drones.
For event and workshop organizers: Participants can start the experience immediately on their own smartphones. Since they can continue for free from home after the event, it doesn't just end at the trial session; it allows interest in drones to naturally lead to a hobby or learning.
For professionals using drones for work: It can be used as a tool for video production teams to pre-examine angles and altitudes, and to align expectations with pilots. Locations checked on 'Drone Flight Navi' (*) can be displayed in the GlobeXplore Web 3D view with a single click, making site scouting and team image sharing smoother before heading to the location.
*Drone Flight Navi: A flight support app for drones that allows users to check flight feasibility and regulatory information on a map.
From 'Experience' to 'Exploration' and 'Utilization' What ozora aims for is not a world that ends with just a simulator.
We envision a path where people who discover the joy of flying on screen meet peers in our drone community (ODC: ozora Drone Community) and eventually acquire a real drone. Furthermore, professionals using drones for work can use our commercial simulator, 'GlobeXplore Pro,' to verify flight routes and compositions in advance, leading to safe and efficient operations.
Experience, exploration, and utilization. Through these three steps, we want to create a future where drones evolve from 'tools for a few experts' into 'tools that anyone can use.'
History and Achievements May 2023: Released the Steam version of GlobeXplore. Gained attention as a drone simulator utilizing real terrain data. January 2025: Officially released the commercial simulator 'GlobeXplore Pro.' Proposed new professional workflows, such as pre-simulation for filming sites. February 2026: Received the UI/UX Design Award at the 'PLATEAU AWARD 2025' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Selected as one of the top 10 finalists from entries nationwide. February 2026: Released GlobeXplore Web. Realized an environment where anyone can fly for free using only a browser, surpassing 1,000 users.
The future we dream of To be able to fly in the sky on the very day you become interested in drones. We want to create such a world.
Our challenge is to build an infrastructure that no one has yet taken for granted—one where anyone in the world can fly in the sky using just a browser. We want to grow GlobeXplore into something like the 'Google Maps of the sky.'
From there, new drone pilots will be born, new video creators will emerge, and new jobs and cultures using drones will be created. A world where 'flying in the sky' becomes a daily option, just like playing a game or taking a photo.
That is our dream.
A message from our Representative, Takahashi When I first flew an FPV (First-Person View) drone in Australia in my teens, the way I saw the world changed. Cutting through the wind, skimming the ground, and in the next moment, rising to a height where I could overlook the entire city. That experience was a thrill that left a physical impression on me, one that words cannot fully convey.
Upon returning to Japan, what I felt was the height of the barriers to reaching that experience: the price of the aircraft, the lack of places to fly, and the complexity of legal regulations. There was almost no environment where someone who thought, 'I want to try this,' could actually fly that same day.
That is why I started by creating an entrance where you can fly in the sky with just a smartphone.
GlobeXplore is still a small product. However, if someone who flies on our screen thinks, 'I want to try flying in the real sky next,' that is the first step toward our dream. I am seriously committed to creating a future where GlobeXplore becomes the 'gateway to the sky' for people all over the world.
