Seven mobile battery manufacturers, including Anker Japan and Elecom, and four major telecommunication carriers (NTT Group, KDDI, SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile) have signed a cooperation agreement to secure power supplies in areas affected by large-scale disasters. Under this agreement, beginning June 1, 2026, the battery manufacturers will procure and provide mobile batteries and charging cables, which the telecom carriers will then deliver to evacuation centers based on the needs of the affected area. This initiative will make it easier for evacuees to charge devices like smartphones, allowing them to stay in contact with family and access necessary information more reliably.
