Smart Eye Camera Wins Bronze at 2026 Clio Awards, One of the World's Top Three Advertising Awards

OUI Inc., a venture company originating from Keio University School of Medicine, is pleased to announce that the joint project "Smart Eye Camera" by OUI Inc. and TBWA HAKUHODO has won a Bronze award in the Digital / Mobile category, Emerging Technology subcategory, at the globally prestigious "2026 Clio Awards."

The Clio Awards, founded in 1959 in New York, USA, is an international award considered one of the "world's three major advertising awards" alongside Cannes Lions and The One Show. It is known as one of the most influential awards globally, celebrating outstanding creativity in advertising, design, and communication fields.

About this award This project is an initiative where OUI Inc. and TBWA HAKUHODO collaborated to communicate the social value and potential of Smart Eye Camera to the world through the power of creativity. OUI Inc. is a university-launched venture company established in July 2016 by an ophthalmologist from Keio University School of Medicine, with the philosophy of "advancing medicine." They developed the iPhone attachment-type medical device "Smart Eye Camera" from scratch and completed it in approximately one and a half years. The leading cause of blindness worldwide is cataracts. Although cataracts can often be prevented from leading to blindness with timely treatment, blindness due to cataracts is a social problem in developing countries. Smart Eye Camera is a small medical device that attaches to an iPhone, making ophthalmic examinations possible anywhere, including areas without electricity or disaster-stricken regions.
