Hotels embrace diversity with special offerings for Pride Month

Hotel Universal Port and Hotel Universal Port Vita (located in Konohana-ku, Osaka; General Manager: Go Matsumiya), official hotels of Universal Studios Japan, will implement initiatives to celebrate and respect sexual diversity during 'Pride Month' from June 1 to June 30, 2026. The hotels will display rainbow flags throughout the premises to show their support. Additionally, Lounge R at Hotel Universal Port will offer a rainbow-colored cocktail. This initiative aims to provide a welcoming environment where diverse guests from around the world can feel comfortable and be themselves. Every June, 'Pride Month' is observed globally to deepen understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and honor the dignity of diverse sexual identities. As the hotels welcome a wide range of guests, including international travelers, they believe that consideration for diverse values and cultures is more important than ever. As part of these efforts, the hotels conducted an LGBTQ+ seminar for their crew in March 2026 to promote understanding. Recognized for these efforts, the hotels have been certified as 'LGBTQ-Friendly Hotels' by the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau. They remain committed to providing services that ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. 1. Rainbow Cocktail Overview: Lounge R at Hotel Universal Port will serve a rainbow cocktail. Representing the six colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, the cocktail was created with the wish for a society where everyone can live authentically. Based on Malibu, it features tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and orange juice, accented with blue curacao and strawberry syrup. It offers a gentle sweetness and refreshing acidity, creating a mellow and approachable taste. Garnished with a lemon slice and a flower, this vibrant drink celebrates the diverse personalities of Pride Month. Period: June 1 – June 30, 2026. Location: 1F Lounge R (Hours: 8:00–22:00). Price: 1,200 JPY (tax and service charge included). 2. Crew LGBTQ+ Seminar: Crew members from both Hotel Universal Port and Hotel Universal Port Vita participated in an LGBTQ+ seminar. The seminar covered basic knowledge about LGBTQ+ issues and hospitality methods. Following this training, the hotels received certification as 'LGBTQ-Friendly Hotels' from the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, and they will continue to raise awareness to ensure a pleasant stay for diverse guests from around the world.
