It is not merely a nostalgic reproduction, but a piece that conveys Oris's spirit of independence and timeless elegance. As the name 'Star' suggests, its brilliance is directed not to the past, but to the present and future.

The Swiss watch law, enacted in the 1930s, aimed to suppress excessive competition but significantly restricted technological innovation. Oris, which had walked as an independent company, was no exception, deprived of the freedom to develop high-quality movements at its own discretion. The repeal of this regulation in 1965 was not just a systemic change for Oris, but a historic turning point that restored the brand's independence and future. Freed from restrictions, Oris was able to demonstrate its inherent technical capabilities and creativity, pioneering a new path as a mechanical watch brand.

The central figure in the repeal of the watch law was Dr. Rolf Portman, a young lawyer who joined Oris in 1956. For about 10 years, he confronted the vested interests of the industry and persistently promoted legal reform. His efforts bore fruit, and the watch law was repealed in 1965. Oris gained the freedom to develop its first lever escapement movement.
