Orico Receives First 'AA' Rating in MSCI ESG Ratings
Orico has been awarded an 'AA' rating in the MSCI ESG Ratings for the first time.
Orient Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shin Umemiya; hereinafter "Orico") has received an "AA" rating in the "MSCI ESG Ratings" (as of March 2026) for the first time, marking an upgrade from its previous "A" rating.
The "MSCI ESG Ratings" is a globally recognized index that evaluates a company's resilience to industry-specific ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) risks and opportunities. Companies are rated on a seven-point scale from AAA (highest) to CCC (lowest) based on relative performance against industry peers. These ratings are widely used by institutional investors for investment decisions and are also utilized by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) in selecting constituents for its ESG indices.
This rating reflects a comprehensive assessment of Orico's various initiatives, including the strengthening of corporate governance, the advancement of human capital, the respect for human rights throughout the supply chain, and efforts to address climate change and reduce environmental impact.
Moving forward, Orico remains committed to contributing to society through its business activities as a trusted partner. We will continue to pursue both social and corporate value, while further promoting effective initiatives and transparent information disclosure.
