ORBIS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroe Yamaguchi; hereinafter: ORBIS) will hold a skincare event for high school students and their parents on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at its experience-focused facility "SKINCARE LOUNGE BY ORBIS" in Omotesando, Tokyo. Adolescence is a time of significant fluctuation not only for the mind but also for the skin. In response to high school students who are overwhelmed with information and struggle to know "what is correct and what care is right for me," and parents who wish to support them, we are providing an opportunity to experience skincare as "self-care to know and condition oneself."

This event is based on a program that has been conducted during high school visits and is being held for the first time in a format where parents and children can participate together. It also aims to create a communication opportunity for parents and children to understand each other's conditions and feelings through the experience of skincare.

We plan to welcome media coverage on the day of the event. You will be able to photograph parents and children experiencing skincare and their dialogue scenes, as well as interview the instructors in charge of the lessons.

**Background of the Event | From School to Home, Learning Self-Care with Parents and Children**

**The "Mirai Hada Atelier" Initiative Developed for High School Students**

ORBIS considers skincare as an entry point to self-care, given the close connection between skin and lifestyle, mind, and body. We have been offering free lessons at schools called "Mirai Hada Atelier." The program has been well-received by teachers, and it has also sparked natural dialogue through the topic of skincare.

**Changes in the Information Environment and Beauty Behaviors of Young People, and Parents' Trial and Error**

In recent years, the movement to regulate SNS use among young people has accelerated worldwide. In Australia, a system restricting use by those under 16 will be introduced in December 2025. In Japan, the Children and Families Agency established a working group in January 2026 to discuss the internet environment for minors, including SNS use, and discussions toward revising the system have begun*1.

Amidst the changing information environment surrounding young people, new trends have been observed in how they acquire beauty information and in their behaviors. According to the "Survey on Cosmetic Behavior and Awareness 2015-2025: Changes in Women's Skincare and Makeup Behavior and Awareness" by the Pola Research Institute of Beauty and Culture, operated by Pola Orbis Holdings, which academically explores cosmetics, the use of "SNS" and "video content" as sources of information when purchasing makeup has increased*2. Furthermore, there is an increasing number of people in their late teens incorporating special care items like sheet masks and creams, which were previously used mainly by those in their 20s and older*2, indicating a growing interest in skincare and an earlier start to these behaviors among the younger generation.

Through our "Mirai Hada Atelier" activities, we have observed in daily dialogues that while young people are exposed to a great deal of information and HOW-TOs via SNS, they struggle to judge what is correct and what they need, feeling bewildered by the need to select information. We have also received feedback from parents who are going through trial and error regarding the distance and engagement with the diverse information their adolescent children are exposed to.

**This Event Was Planned Due to the Need for a Place for Parents and Children to Face These Issues Together**

Against this backdrop, we planned this event as a place for parents and children to learn about skincare as self-care. Through a shared experience, we aim to generate dialogue and create an opportunity for both children and adults to focus on their well-being.

**Event Features**

* Held as the first parent-child participation program of "Mirai Hada Atelier" * Features an educational program that frames skincare as "self-care" * Promotes natural dialogue between parents and children through card work * A two-part structure of lectures using original texts and hands-on practice * Offered for free as part of our sustainability activities

**Program Content**

**1. Parent-Child Dialogue Starting from the Skin. Experiential Skincare Program**

This program combines card work for parents and children to share their thoughts on skin and skincare with a hands-on lesson. It promotes dialogue by verbalizing thoughts and concerns about the skin and listening to each other. You will experience skincare not for "appearance," but as self-care to condition yourself.

**2. Two-Part Lesson: Lecture and Practice | Finding the Right Care for You**

Learn the basics of skin in a lecture and experience basic care like how to wash your face and apply moisturizer in a practical session. By feeling the textures on your hands, you will aim to acquire self-care habits that are easy to incorporate into your daily life.
