OPERe Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Yuka Sawada; hereinafter "OPERe") announces the launch of a proof-of-concept (PoC) for a new electronic consent functionality, developed in collaboration with Seiko Solutions Inc. (Headquarters: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; President and CEO: Atsushi Sekine; hereinafter "Seiko Solutions"). This PoC will enable patients to complete the entire electronic consent process within the "Poke Sapo" patient education DX system. OPERe is also now accepting applications from medical institutions interested in participating in this PoC.

Background

In healthcare settings, obtaining numerous consent forms from patients for hospitalization, examinations, and surgeries has long been a challenge. Traditional paper-based processes create burdens such as time required for explanations, storage and retrieval difficulties, and psychological stress for patients. OPERe's "Poke Sapo" is a hospital-facing service that allows patients to receive information necessary for hospitalization and outpatient visits via LINE, tailored to their personal schedules. It has already been introduced in over 130 medical institutions nationwide. Meanwhile, Seiko Solutions has been advancing digitalization of consent processes in healthcare institutions through its electronic consent service "CompactIn".

By combining expertise from both companies, the collaboration aims to deliver a seamless experience enabling patients to confirm explanations and provide consent signatures using only a smartphone.

Overview of Collaboration

This PoC will prioritize maximizing patient experience and will offer the following functionality:

- Patients scan a QR code provided by the hospital using LINE - "Poke Sapo" connects to Seiko Solutions' "CompactIn" system to retrieve the patient's consent document information - "Poke Sapo" presents the consent document URL to the patient - The patient reviews the content and completes the electronic signature on-site

This integration allows patients to complete the entire electronic consent process within the LINE-based "Poke Sapo" experience. Medical institutions can also operate without requiring patients to use separate applications or logins.

Call for Participating Medical Institutions

This PoC will be conducted as a demonstration phase prior to product launch. OPERe and Seiko Solutions will work with participating medical institutions to verify and optimize user pathways and workflows in real-world settings.

Target Applicants: Medical institutions interested in implementing electronic consent (regardless of whether they currently use Poke Sapo)

Application Start Date: June 29, 2026 (Mon)

Details on Fees and Conditions: Will be provided individually

Future Outlook

Based on the results of this PoC, both companies plan to advance joint proposals and solution development, with an eye toward integration with electronic medical records systems in medium- to large-scale hospitals. The goal is to seamlessly incorporate consent workflows—such as those triggered by orders from electronic medical records—into routine clinical operations.

About "Poke Sapo"

"Poke Sapo" is a patient communication system that digitalizes patient education in healthcare institutions. Through LINE, which patients already use daily, they can receive educational content related to hospitalization, examinations, and surgeries—reducing the burden on healthcare staff while improving patient understanding. As an add-on feature, "Poke Sapo" offers an "AI Helpdesk" that automatically answers frequently asked patient questions 24/7, significantly streamlining inquiries that typically require phone or in-person support. The system also provides an "Anamnesis and Questionnaire" feature, enabling patients to complete medical history forms via their personal smartphones (via LINE) or hospital-issued tablets.
