Baluko Laundry Place, operated by OKULAB Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and CEO: Jun Kubota / Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "OKULAB"), which proposes new lifestyles through laundry services, has renewed its "Down Comforter Course" aiming to provide a higher quality washing experience for down comforters. The renewed service has been available at 276 stores nationwide starting Friday, April 10, 2026.

Baluko Laundry Place has been offering a dedicated down comforter course since 2020 to provide an experience where down comforters can be easily washed and dried at a coin laundry. Now, aiming to further improve the finish quality, we have completely revamped the course content. We have started offering the new down comforter course at 276 stores across the country.

In this renewal, with the aim of drawing out the original lightness and fluffy texture of down comforters, employees holding cleaning specialist qualifications reviewed the process from washing to rinsing. The new down comforter course is an original course of Baluko Laundry Place, realized precisely because OKULAB possesses deep knowledge of the characteristics of laundry materials, detergents, and laundry equipment.

A New Down Comforter Course that Minimizes Detergent Residue and Provides a Fluffy Finish
The new down comforter course is designed with the concept of washing the outside and the inside of the down comforter using optimal methods for each. In the first step, Baluko Laundry Place's original detergent "peu" is used to wash away dirt on the outside of the down comforter, such as sweat and sebum. Then, it is washed with a generous amount of water while replacing the water three times to thoroughly wash away dirt such as dust and mites inside the down comforter. The "peu" fabric softener used in the final step is colorless and fragrance-free. Formulated based on plant-derived surfactants with excellent biodegradability, it leaves no unnecessary substances on fibers or down.
After washing, it is dehydrated while suppressing damage to the down comforter, and then dried for 35 minutes.
By rinsing with a sufficient amount of water, detergent components remaining on the down are minimized, realizing a lighter and fluffier finish.
Furthermore, after using this course, additional drying in a dryer (approx. 20 minutes) is recommended as a finishing touch. By performing additional drying in a large-diameter drum dryer during the drying process, the down spreads out firmly due to the tumble effect. In addition, the warm air of gas drying at about 65°C reaches every corner of the down, which also leads to the suppression of mites and bacteria.
